Hey! Well...it's been a while, and I needed to get caught up on posting to this here blog. So...away we go...
Congratulations to both the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts for one of the best Super Bowls in recent memory! While I am disappointed that the Bears didn't win...I am glad that Peyton Manning finally won a Super Bowl. It would have been nice if New Orleans had made it...but there's always next year!
Hard to believe it's March already. But I am glad that we made it through the winter...and a rough one it was. Seemed like it got worse as it went on. Especially the Great Ice Storm of February. That was brutal.
At some point, I'll have to start talking about movies...seeing as it's my favorite subject. I may have to make a separate folder for reviews...I need to figure out how to do that first, though.
One last thing and I'll jump back down off the soapbox. As some may have heard, there was a rumor floating about involving a Van Halen reunion and tour. Unfortunately, it has already fallen through (that was quick, fellas). This is the second time we've had the tease of a tour dangled before our eyes...only to have it cruelly snatched away. I personally am beginning to think it's never going to happen. Which is a shame...because I would have loved to have seen (for the most part) the original line-up of VH back together again. My wife and I saw "Diamond" David Lee Roth in concert a few years back (he was opening for Bad Company)...and I must say, that was an awesome show. Granted, I haven't been to a ton of concerts in my day...but that ranked in the top three. I'll cover the other two in a later post.
Well...I'm going to play my favorite computer game now. More to follow...stay tuned!!!

Twas A Week Before Christmas
Hello all!!! Officially one week to Christmas and counting!
In the living room, Christmas music is playing on one of the music channels on television. I'm sitting on the edge of my office chair (because a cat is hogging the rest of it...thanks, Elvis). For the most part, everything is ready for the holidays!
Tonight, my wife and I indulged in one of our own holiday traditions...ordering Chinese food and watching "A Christmas Story". For those who don't know which one that is...it's the little kid who wants a Red Ryder BB gun for Christmas. "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." Good stuff.
In other news, I qualified for my fantasy football league's championship game. Yay me!

Stuff And Things In Illinois
Ah, the joys of winter in Illinois! Yeah, right...
We will be going (according to the weather) from 30's and snow to mid 40's and even one day in the low 50's! My poor unfortunate sinuses!!! That is one thing I truly miss about living in the South...you may suffer during the summer months...but the rest of the year makes up for it. Nothing beats going around in jeans and a t-shirt in mid-January.
Right now, I'm just lounging around before work. Checking email and what-not. My dearest wife Annabelle is organizing her new knitting bag. She's a very arts-and-crafts type...knitting is her new favorite.
I am joined in my "office" by Elvis the cat...he's currently looking out the window and chattering at birds.
That's about it for now...more to follow...

My First Blog Post
Greetings! And verily I say unto thee, this is my first blog post!!! Trust me...it'll get more pompous as time passes.
I'm Darrin...a (nearly) lifelong resident of Illinois. I'm married and I am owned by three cats. I got home from work about half an hour ago, and after seeing my wife's blog decided to do one of my own. So here I am.
More to follow...stay tuned...
